As a central fixture of our new product development process, PPG SafeAssure prescribes stringent protocols for screening starting chemicals as well as those that could potentially affect the packaged food or beverage to assure the longevity and sustainability of new packaging technologies. The overarching goal of the SafeAssure program is to support our canmaking customers—and the brands they serve—in demonstrating food safety.
The program supports the marketplace in demonstrating food safety by building a dossier of key information to allow the onward supply chain to conduct appropriate risk assessments and build confidence in food or beverage products.
State-of-the-art methodologies around analytical science and risk assessment and our computer-simulated toxicological assessments support our innovative coating portfolio. We invest substantial time, cost and effort in this area to enhance the sustainability of our packaging customers.
